Promiseland Festival Responds To Complaints About Its Moshpit: 'We’ve Listened To Your Feedback'

The Promiseland Festival in Australia has issued a response to the numerous memes and criticisms about the event's decision to separate the moshpit areas for General Admission and VIP ticket holders, stating that they have “taken your feedback into account.”

During the weekend, festival-goers from all over the nation gathered on the Gold Coast to enjoy performances from a wide array of artists including Jorja Smith, Busta Rhymes, YG Marley, Rema, and others.

However, attendees with General Admission tickets were not satisfied with how the festival allocated space between them and those with VIP tickets.

Throughout the event, festival-goers from both categories shared their views on the noticeable gap between the VIP and GA moshpits.

In fact, videos emerged showing people allegedly jumping from the GA section to access the VIP area because, as one TikTok user mentioned, “those artists be looking like ants FR.”

Several attendees also voiced their dissatisfaction on the official Promiseland Festival TikTok account after drone footage of the event was posted.

“With that GA barrier, you might as well watch from your apartment in [Surfer’s Paradise],” one individual commented.

“There’s definitely a reason people were jumping that GA barrier,” another attendee added.

“That GA barrier is downright criminal,” wrote a third.

Promiseland Festival responds to GA & VIP moshpit complaints

After the eventful weekend, Promiseland issued a statement on Instagram addressing the concerns regarding their moshpit arrangements.

“Moving forward, Promiseland will eliminate the separation of GA and VIP areas,” the statement began.

“We’ve heard your feedback, and there will be no barriers dividing festival attendees. Everyone will enjoy equal views across all stages.”

Although the festival plans to remove the separate areas for future events, they will still offer VIP tickets with benefits like exclusive amenities and expedited entry.

“We believe this change will enhance the experience for all festival-goers and support our vision for a more inclusive and united festival.”

Interestingly, the announcement prompted some to request that the VIP and GA areas remain separate but suggested moving the barriers closer to reduce the 'huge divide', which made artists appear distant.

“Move the barrier closer, don’t remove it,” one person advised.

“I love Promiseland, but I think we should still have GA and VIP sections. Just bring the barrier a bit closer… but not too much,” another festival-goer commented.

What are the price differences between VIP and General Admission at Promiseland Festival?

Based on the three-day passes, General Admission tickets cost $415. VIP tickets, which offered perks such as closer moshpit access and quicker entry, were priced at $615, while VVIP Terrace Passes were $1999.

Festival-goers could also opt for one-day tickets, where GA cost $179, VIP was $279, and VVIP Terrace Passes were $749.

Clearly, there is a significant price gap between GA and VIP tickets in terms of cost.

For now, attendees are advocating for barriers to remain in place between VIP and GA areas. We’ll have to wait until Promiseland Festival 2025 to see if this decision benefits the organisers.
