R&B Singer Khalid Confirms He's Gay And Says He Was Outed: 'I Am Not Ashamed Of My Sexuality'

American Teen artist Khalid has openly shared his sexuality on social media. Fans have expressed their concerns for the singer after he disclosed that he was outed, prompting his significant announcement.

During the weekend, the “Location” singer connected with his fans by confirming his homosexuality through a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Khalid began his announcement with a rainbow flag and exclamation points, writing, “there ya go. next topic please lol.”

Although Khalid’s initial post with the rainbow flag was met with congratulations and celebration, his subsequent post caused concern among fans when he revealed that he had been outed.

“I got outted and the world still continues to turn,” Khalid shared.

“Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobody’s business! But I am okay with me. Love y’all.”

The “Young, Dumb & Broke” singer did not disclose who or when he was outed. However, some fans quickly speculated that his coming out was related to a post from Hugo D Almonte.

In a since-deleted post, Almonte shared a selfie with Khalid and wrote, “bitch ass lied and said that I broke into his house because I didn’t want him.”

Almonte posted a series of other comments referring to a “gay R&B Singer.” However, it seems these have been removed from the platform after receiving significant backlash from Khalid's supporters and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

In response to Khalid’s X post, where he mentioned being outed, the singer received a wave of support from fans and the community, with many expressing regret over the circumstances that forced him to reveal his sexual identity.

“Sorry that even happened to you. It isn’t anyone’s business to tell. We still support you and love your music, bro,” one person wrote.

“Don’t feel any pressure to discuss it further, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. I’m so incredibly sorry this couldn’t happen on your own terms. But if you ever want to share your story your way, we’re ALL here to listen and support with open arms,” another fan commented.

“No one deserves to be outed without their permission. You deserved to come out on your own terms. We stand with you,” wrote a third.

Towards the conclusion of his announcement, Khalid reassured fans that he was not ashamed of his sexuality. He asserted that it was nobody else's business, which is entirely true!

As a long-time fan, I believe Khalid managed the challenging situation with incredible grace. Whoever outed him can go kick rocks, though!
