Honestly, I hardly know any women who don't have at least one or two screenshots of engagement rings saved on their camera roll. It's not something we dwell on frequently, but when you spot an engagement ring style that perfectly captures what you never realized you wanted, you snap a screenshot to share with your future fiancé.

If you haven't been collecting screenshots, picking an engagement ring can feel quite overwhelming. Numerous factors come into play—budget, cut, color, clarity, setting, style, metal, and practicality. So, before you embark on this journey, we suggest conducting a bit of research first—that's where we come in.

We've chatted with some of our favorite local jewelers to uncover the key engagement ring trends for 2025 and where to find them, in case you need to send someone special a few inspiration links.

You're welcome!

From chunky band solitaires to toi et moi and east-to-west-set stones, these are the engagement ring styles worth bookmarking.

Marquise Solitaires

According to Toya Worsley, founder of LINDELLI Jewellery, Marquise solitaires are making a comeback, especially after Selena Gomez’s engagement announcement at the end of last year. As shown above, Benny Blanco proposed to Gomez with a breathtaking marquise diamond, prompting people to start adding Marquise solitaires to their Pinterest boards once more.

“Renowned for its elongated and graceful silhouette, this timeless shape creates the illusion of a larger diamond, maximizing visual impact while offering excellent value,” Toya explains. “Its flattering design elongates the appearance of fingers, adding a touch of sophistication to every hand it adorns.”

The style is a fusion of modern glamour and vintage, making it an ideal choice if you're seeking a unique yet classic design.

When it comes to pairing it with a wedding band, Toya suggests a minimalist approach.

“While Selena paired hers with a diamond band, a simple and sleek band with subtle detailing allows the marquise cut to take center stage while offering versatility in stacking combinations.”

East-to-west-set stones

Now, many of you likely have this style of engagement ring on your Pinterest board after rumors circulated that Tom Holland proposed to Zendaya with an east-to-west-set stone.

“This style sets a stone with the peaks or points oriented east-to-west (horizontally across the finger) rather than the traditional north-to-south, as seen on our Mira ring,” explains the founder of Sydney-based Alana Maria Jewellery, Alana Ellis.

East-west settings provide a modern and unique approach that can also showcase larger carat stones without feeling overly formal or excessive, according to Alana. “They can also be a unique customization of the traditional solitaire. We often see customers getting creative with trilogies and having the side stones east-west.”

Zendaya‘s new sparkler is a prime example of an east-west setting.

So, how should your wedding band complement the horizontal diamond? Since the stone will occupy more space horizontally on your finger, you may not see as much of the band (depending on the stone’s carat), explains Alana. So, “you might want a band to match the curve of the stone, such as our Cigar band or Otta band.”

Chunky Band Solitaires

Chunky band solitaires are having a moment, redefining tradition with bold, flat bands that highlight larger diamonds, according to Toya.

“The substantial band adds a modern edge, balancing femininity with a hint of masculinity. These rings are designed for practicality and everyday wear, often featuring low-set baskets for added comfort.”

We've seen celebrities like Dua Lipa and Emma Roberts embracing the trend with striking chunky band solitaires, setting the tone for modern minimalism.

The resurgence of this style reflects the growing popularity of larger diamonds, made more attainable by lab-grown options, Toya explains. “The contrast of bold metal with a brilliant diamond exudes confidence and makes a contemporary statement.”

Since this style of engagement ring occupies a lot of prime real estate on your finger, it's best to choose a finer, more delicate wedding band, advises Toya.

“A chunky band solitaire pairs beautifully with a delicate shared-prong wedding band. This balance keeps the focus on the bold engagement ring while adding a subtle touch of sparkle.”

Toi Et Moi

Now, if you're someone who saves engagement rings every time they appear on your FYP, you've likely got the next trend saved in your folder. Toi et Moi rings have been on the rise for a while now, with celebrities like Em Rata, Ariana Grande, and Megan Fox all favoring the style.

Alana explains that Toi et Moi means 'you and me' in French and is a beautiful representation of the partnership and love that a couple shares.

“One of the stones is typically leaning or ‘kissing’ the other. It is a two-stone ring and can be customized to include a variety of stones. We most commonly design pear and oval or marquise and pear, as seen on our Lola ring.”

Talk about symbolism?!

Alana has a few recommendations when choosing a wedding band to pair with such a distinct style.

“If you have a low-set engagement ring, any straight bands won’t sit flush with the ring. We suggest pairing it with a band like our Otta Curve Band, or you can customize our Cigar band to have a cutout specifically for your ring.”

It's worth noting that a ring like this can be timeless, even if you get divorced. Em Rata turned her Toi et Moi engagement ring into a ‘divorce ring’ by separating the diamonds into two rings so she could keep wearing them. ICONIC!
