Scott Cam Says 2025 Cast Of The Block Is ‘Fantastic’ But Can Be ‘A Punish At Times’

We’re just days away from the much-anticipated arrival of the 2025 instalment of The Block, and as we eagerly await season 21, host Scott Cam has unveiled what viewers can expect from this year’s cast.

Cam, who has been the face of the renovation series since its third season in 2010, discussed the upcoming premiere, set to air on Sunday, during a recent launch event in Daylesford, the town in Victoria where season 21 was filmed.

According to Yahoo, Cam described this season’s lineup of contestants as “fantastic,” noting that they are among the best he’s seen during his tenure on the show.

“In my opinion, they’re the best teams we’ve ever had on The Block,” Cam stated.

For those worried that such remarks might lead to a lackluster season (perhaps you’ve been watching too much MAFS), rest assured that Cam’s praise was accompanied by a slight caveat.

“That’s not to say they aren’t challenging at times,” Cam remarked regarding the castmates.

“It doesn’t mean they don’t argue and bicker with each other and the other teams. It’s not to say they don’t stir up drama and can be quite exasperating.”

Regarding the best yet sometimes vexing contestants Cam mentions, it was disclosed earlier this month that season 21 will feature five teams, each ready to wield their hammers and arrange their pillows on adjacent lots in the rural Victorian town.

There’s Sonny and Alicia from the Gold Coast, Robby and Mat from South Australia, along with Han and Can, Britt and Taz, and Victoria’s very own Em and Ben

MAFS’ Dave Hand Is Appearing On The Block, But Not In The Way You’d Think

While it remains to be seen exactly how the castmates will be a “punish,” The Block is well-acquainted with controversies and drama.

Last year, speculation was rife with rumors that two castmates were involved in an affair (perhaps between paint swatches), alongside chatter about whether a team had cheated by forging Foreman Dan’s signature.

Even this year, prior to its premiere, we’ve already had offscreen season 21 gossip involving Adrian Portelli and his rumored conflict with Cam as he prepares to host a competing renovation show.

With all this, expect The Block to deliver plenty of drama when it debuts on Aussie screens on July 27.

Oh, and there’ll likely be some renovations, too.
