Happy Friday! The sun is shining brightly, the birds are joyfully singing, the weekend is just around the corner, and there's finally something exciting to look forward to because Two Door Cinema Club and Declan McKenna have just announced a joint tour across Australia.
Even better, you won't have to wait until 2025 like it seems for everything else because this tour is happening THIS YEAR (yes, this year!), with Two Door Cinema Club and McKenna performing at various venues nationwide throughout December.

!!!!!
While both acts have previously embarked on their respective Australian tours — with TDCC last visiting in 2019 and McKenna earlier this year — the upcoming dates signify their first-ever co-headlining tour.
This joint venture is delightful news for music lovers like me, who enjoy dancing through heartache with upbeat tunes reminiscent of the soundtrack from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
TDCC and McKenna will be accompanied on their seven-date Australian tour by the alt-pop quintet Soft Launch, completing a musical lineup that has my inner indie enthusiast absolutely thrilled.
I'll be cheering confidently too, as the tour will feature a setlist filled with both their chart-topping hits (such as McKenna’s viral TikTok hit “Brazil”) and their newer releases (like TDCC’s “Happy Customers”).
Also, anticipate songs from McKenna’s 2024 album What Happened to the Beach?, and any performance skills he acquires while opening for Sabrina Carpenter.
TDCC and McKenna will kick off their tour at Perth’s Ice Cream Factory on December 4, with another performance scheduled for the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on December 6. From there, they will perform at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on December 8 and University of Wollongong Gardens on December 10.
The Station in Sunshine Coast will host the tour on December 12, before the musicians take the stage at Brisbane’s Riverstage the following evening (December 13). TDDC and McKenna will conclude their extensive Australian tour with a final performance at Bar On The Hill in Newcastle on December 14.
Although the ticket-buying process can often be competitive enough to make me shiver, I'll definitely be at the front of the line when presale tickets for the joint tour become available on Tuesday, September 24 at 10am AEST. Find Live Nation presale tickets here, and Secret Sounds Presale tickets here.
For those who miss out, general public tickets for all shows will be available on Wednesday, September 25 from 11am AEST here.
In the meantime, I'm off to bask in the indie music vibe that makes me feel like a character in an eighties teen movie.
