The Inspired Unemployed's Better Beer Will Pay 50 Lucky Punters To Ditch Work This Friday

The Inspired Unemployed's side venture, Better Beer, is offering an exciting opportunity for people to take a day off work on the first weekend of December—this upcoming weekend—in celebration of Australia's unofficial holiday, Day For It Day. Consider me intrigued and ready to skip work. Apologies, not really, PEDESTRIAN.TV.

In addition to being Australia’s beloved local pranksters and perfume creators, the dynamic duo from The Inspired Unemployed, Matt Ford and Jack Steele, also spearhead a beverage line called Better Beer, developed in collaboration with drink enthusiast Nick Cogger.

To toast to the success of their bubbly line of drinks (affectionately termed the “Oprah Tinfrey” of beverages) and to welcome the first weekend of summer, Better Beer is commemorating the unofficial Aussie holiday, Day For It Day.

Day For It Day typically features schweet offers on Better Beer beverages, but this year the company has something even more thrilling in store.

Can I get a drumroll before the big surprise?

To heighten the excitement of Day For It Day, 50 fortunate individuals will have the opportunity to be paid $300 by Better Beer to take Friday, December 1, off work, extending their regular weekend into a long one.

A day off with cash? How incredibly awesome is that!

Unfortunately, you can’t just feign illness and get paid by the beverage company. Here are all the specifics on how you can score a paid day off from The Inspired Unemployed's Better Beer.

Interested in getting paid to take the day off? Here’s how to nab it

Firstly, participants must obtain a signed permission slip (think school excursion vibes) from their employer granting the day off and submit it to the Better Beer Instagram (@betterbeer).

Individuals are also required to capture a video and/or photo of their boss approving their absence from work on December 1. This video/photo should be submitted along with the playful permission slip.

I often say this, but 2023 has flown by so quickly. Realizing that this event is on the first weekend of summer has made me aware of how close we are to 2024. It’s a bit daunting, but Day For It Day adds a fun and welcoming touch to the idea of the new year.

Now, please excuse me as I attempt to convince my boss to sign a permission slip and appear in a TikTok for a paid day off.
