Aussie budget airline Bonza appears to have collapsed as all of its flights were suddenly cancelled, with CEO Tim Jordan mentioning “discussions” about the airline’s future.
Passengers intending to board Bonza aircraft have reportedly been left stranded after the airline ceased its operations on Tuesday, 30 April.
These cancellations were confirmed after an announcement from Tim Jordan, Bonza‘s CEO, who stated that Tuesday’s operations would be halted and that “discussions are currently underway regarding the ongoing viability of the business.”
“We extend our apologies to our customers affected by this, and we are working as swiftly as possible to determine a path forward that ensures there is ongoing competition in the Australian domestic aviation market,” the CEO conveyed, according to 9News.

Following the cancellations, the Australian Financial Review also reported that Bonza’s aircraft had been “repossessed” by a previous investment partner, which may have also contributed to the cancellations.
Transport Minister Catherine King has stated she has spoken to Qantas and Virgin, who have offered assistance to stranded Bonza customers.
“I am aware of reports this morning about Bonza flights being cancelled,” King remarked.
“I have communicated with Qantas and Virgin CEOs this morning, and both airlines are prepared to assist stranded passengers who need to return home.”
The transport department has provided a hotline — which is 1800 069 244 — for customers who are stranded. The hotline will remain open until 10pm tonight.
Stranded passengers are also urged to seek assistance from Qantas, Jetstar, or Virgin through their customer service lines.
Qantas and Virgin have issued their own statements regarding the Bonza situation, detailing how stranded customers can reach out for help.
