Are you searching for easy work-from-home jobs that don’t require any previous experience?
Today, earning money online or starting a side hustle from home is more accessible than ever. Whether your goal is to make extra cash each month or build a full-time income, there are plenty of beginner-friendly opportunities available.
When I first began working online, I didn’t have any special skills or formal training, and to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing. I learned everything step by step along the way. Now, I’m able to run my business entirely from home — or from anywhere in the world — and I’ve also helped thousands of people start doing the same.
If you feel discouraged because you lack experience or think companies won’t hire beginners, you’re definitely not alone. The good news is that many remote jobs are designed for people who are just starting out and don’t require an impressive resume or years of experience.
In this article, I’ll share some of the easiest remote jobs you can start today with zero experience. Many of these opportunities have been tested by my readers, and several are jobs I’ve personally done myself.
9 Easiest Work at Home Jobs That Don’t Require Experience
Below are the easiest work-from-home jobs that don’t require experience. I’ve personally done many of the jobs on this list, even though I had no experience, so I can honestly say that it’s possible!
Note: So, what makes a job easy and beginner-friendly? Before we jump into the list, I want to explain what I mean by “easy.” These aren’t necessarily jobs where you can sit around doing nothing (although some side hustles really are low-effort!). What I mean is:
- No previous job experience is required.
- No college degree or formal training needed.
- You can get started with little to no cost.
- The tasks are easy to learn and understand.
- You may be able to have a flexible schedule.
So whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, a student, someone between jobs, or just looking for extra money, these work-from-home jobs are perfect for beginners.
1. Sell printables or templates
Printables are digital files that you make on your computer. Then, you sell them on sites like Etsy (or Shopify or Teachers Pay Teachers), and customers buy them and print them out on their own.
So, you don’t have to actually store any inventory or do any of the printing yourself – you are creating the design.
You can make printables for things like travel checklists, wedding planners, budget planners, kids’ activities, greeting cards, gift tags, wall art, coloring pages, and so much more. People buy all sorts of printables, and I have many times!
2. Online surveys
Okay, so this is not a full-time job, but I do think it’s one of the easiest ways you can make money at home.
I’ve personally earned hundreds of dollars in free gift cards and PayPal cash from answering paid online surveys over the years.
Surveys don’t pay a ton (they are not a full-time job – just an easy side hustle that you can do at home), but they’re flexible, mindless, and quick. You can do them while watching TV or waiting in line.
Here are some of my favorite paid online survey sites:
- American Consumer Opinion
- Freecash – This site is great for playing games and answering surveys. I have earned over $300 by playing games on Freecash.
- Survey Junkie
- Swagbucks
- NiceSurveys
- Branded Surveys
- Prime Opinion
- User Interviews – This site is great if you want to answer questions in focus groups and earn a higher amount – the average focus group pays around $50 for one hour of your time.
Tip: I recommend signing up for multiple sites so that you can get more survey invites. And, always use a dedicated email address so your main inbox doesn’t get cluttered. Some survey sites send a TON of emails.
3. Virtual assistant
Virtual assistants help businesses or entrepreneurs with tasks like email, scheduling, customer service, data entry, SEO, time management, or even social media. Pay for a virtual assistant can vary, but you can usually make at least $1,000 a month part-time, or even over $5,000 full-time each month.
You don’t need formal training to get started – just be organized, dependable, and willing to learn.
You can find work on Fiverr, Upwork, by reaching out to small business owners, and more.
I have my own virtual assistant, and I have for years. I have trained her for every task that I have her do, and she has been a lifesaver for my business. She also has told me that I am her easiest job ever, so that’s proof right there for you. 🙂
4. Customer service representative
Many companies hire remote customer service agents to help customers via phone, email, or chat. They’ll usually provide training, so you don’t need experience. This type of job usually pays hourly, at around $15 to $20 per hour.
You will usually need good communication skills, a quiet home environment (if you’ll be answering phone calls), basic typing skills, and be a friendly person because you will be helping customers.
Some companies that hire for customer service reps from home include Amazon, Apple, American Express, Progressive, and Yelp.
5. Data entry
Data entry jobs are repetitive but easy to do from home. Data entry clerks input numbers, update spreadsheets, or transfer information from one system to another. This type of job usually pays hourly, at around $15 to $20 per hour.
This job is great for beginners, fast typists, or anyone who likes quiet, focused work.
You can find data entry jobs on sites like Upwork, Fiverr, FlexJobs, Amazon Mechanical Turk, Microworkers, and Clickworker.
6. Transcription
If you’re a fast typer and can listen carefully, transcription can be a good option. You’ll listen to audio files and type what you hear, so it’s a fairly easy job to do at home. This type of job usually pays hourly, at around $10 to $15 per hour.
You can find transcription jobs on sites like Rev, TranscribeMe, and Fiverr.
7. Microtasking
Microtasks are very small online tasks that pay a little bit each. Think of things like:
- Categorizing photos
- Copying text
- Identifying objects
- Short surveys
These are usually very easy to do, don’t take much time at all, and have lots of flexibility because you typically will apply for one short job, do it, and then get paid. Now, they don’t pay very much, though, with the average pay being around $5 to $10 per hour.
You can find remote work microtasks on sites like Amazon Mechanical Turk, Clickworker, and Appen.
8. Pet sitter or dog walker
If you love animals, this is a fun and easy way to earn from home, or at least near it. Some people even sell dog boarding services in their homes.
Back when I had dogs, I regularly used a dog sitter when we went on vacation. We would pay her around $100 per day to watch our two dogs in her house, and we even chose her because she had a big backyard so she wouldn’t have to walk them. She often told us that we were some of her easiest clients, so it is possible to find great dog-watching customers!
You can use platforms like Rover, Wag, or even local Facebook groups to find clients.
9. Online seller
The average person has thousands of items in their home, so there is probably something you can get started with to sell and make money right away.
You can sell your stuff (or flip items) on eBay, Facebook, Mercari, Craigslist, and more. This one requires no experience and can be started in one afternoon.
You can sell things like used clothes, baby gear, electronics, books, appliances, and more.
And, if you want to turn it into a full-time business or even more of a long-term side hustle, you can find items to resell at places like thrift stores or even by picking up things that people are throwing away at the curb.
I had a small reselling business years ago, and to this day, I still occasionally resell things that I have but no longer need. For example, I recently sold a river raft on Craigslist, as well as some baby gear that I no longer need.
